Hydrangea.macrophylla that is native to Jogasaki-coast in Izu-peninsula

Pictures in nature, here =>.
The hydrangea on the east side in Izu-peninsula has a rich blue.
Especially, the hydrangea in Jogasaki-coast has a lot of varieties in the shape of the flower, and there are mop-head, double, and stripe bloom, etc.
The soil in Jogasaki-corst is acid because the leaf mould has collected on lava. Most flowers are blues in nature. However, it blooms in pink by adjusting PH in the farm.

Saucer shape

I stood up for more than 10 years, but it doesn't become bigger than the time seen first.

With serrated edges

The flower with serrated edge has various levels.

Deep blue

It blooms in the color darker than a picture at my home.

White flower

There seems to be white flower of several plants in Jogasaki coast.

Pink (indigenous place).

It blooms in blue at my garden, but pink is taken on a little.

Small sepal

It is planted for reference in my garden, though it is a small, unremarkable flower.

The color changes by the place.

There are 2 petals a lot more than Jogasaki of a decorative flower. Place obscurity.

A branch with a lot of quarters was selected, and it was such flower.

Well sepepareted sepals

The sepals are long and sharped.

Three sepals

About one 4 sepals flower mixes with 100 circles.

Serrated edges

There are a lot of similar flowers. This ray-flower is large at Jogasaki-coast.

This has the change by the branch. Moreover, if the selection is not repeated, it doesn't become a good flower.

Round shape

The sepals are round, fertile flowers deep blue.

It was a small plant for several years after I germinated on the rock but it bloomed this beautifully. .

H.macrophylla.var.normalis 'Iso bue'

Mr. Corinne Mallet came from France to Japan to investigate the hydrangea in 1993. Hirasawa guided Jogasaki-coast, and the mophead bloom, double and the cserrated bloom, etc. were shown to her. She took these hydrangeas home at that time.
There was this plant immediately near the seaside that went parrot fish fishing before. Oshima-island is seen and is the place where Jogasaki coast can be looked around in a bird's-eye view in immediateness.

Three sepals flower

Several plants of three sepals flower was seen around here. A pine around here is dead and the surrounding most plants are cut for felling, and this year (June in 2007) can't see.

Mophead blooming(nameless), three kinds

A group of mophead blooming is on several meters of cliff to the sea. The mophead blooming has also gone out from a seedling, so it seems to be the stable character. (2006)

Serrated edges,stripe

I saw such serrated flower with the stripe for the first time(June, 2007).

Flower on natural growth ground and flower of the same stock that blooms in my home

It bloomed in beautiful pink when the young plant was planted in the field. The flower becomes a diameter 6.5cm, and is like the hybridization kind.

The natural hybrid of Hydrangea. macrophylla and H. serrata(including H.serrata var. angustata) in Izu-peninsula

When it's certain degree ofer than a coastline (by an example in Akazawa, Ito-shi, than a sea, than), I enter a mountainside, it's really similar to Hydrangea macrophylla, but Shirahana mixes and a little bright hydrangea appears in a leaf. It's possible to watch carefully from the Atami-shi south to Higashiizu-cho. A leaf like following Minami-izu and gamble hydrangea in the woods can also be thought a little more, to enter a mountainside now.

Because there are a lot of white, and it is not lustrous to the leaf, it seems that H.serrata influences this.
